Late Summer / Early Autumn 2010 Well it's not been the best summer again weatherwise, but the fishing has been good on the whole, and as we head into the autumn the rivers are coming alive.We've had some big bream catches on the Trent and hope for a few more.
Blacksilver Baits has a great range of groundbaits that suit the warmer temperatures of late summer and early autumn. With eager feeding patterns of coarse fish during this time in preperation for the colder months. We tried a combination of 'Big Bream Original' and 'River' mixed 50/50 on the Trent and had great results this August fishing worm and pellet over the top. 90lb of bream in a 6 hour session. Black Magik groundbait works excellently in the warmer months for silver fish like roach, skimmers and crucian carp. Watch your catch rate soar using it on either the pole, waggler or feeder. Big Carp Hi-Pro Groundbait is a high protein Carp Groundbait, designed for hungry carp, where carp attraction is key to bring those feeding fish to your hook bait. Ideal as an accompaniment to fishmeal boilies and paste or pellet fishing. Ideal for the method feeder or use in the margins for close work. Also in the range is Hemp'N'Halibut. As the title suggests it is a solid blend of crushed hemp, with high grade fishmeals and ground pellets. Perfect for the summer! Of course we have a selection of plain crumb groundbaits, and seed baits. Don't forget that Hemp is a great all year round hook and feed bait! We also some great additives including molasses meal which can be used as an attractant and groundbait additive whatever the temperature of the water. As its sugar based it dissolves in the water leaving a cloud of sweet attractant that most coarse fish respond to but especially Bream, Carp and Tench.
